Terms of Service

The short, readable version of how Porchlight is offered and what we ask in return.

These terms govern the use of Porchlight, a website conversation and lead intake service operated by Home Builder Marketers. By installing Porchlight on a website or using this site, you agree to them.

The service

Porchlight provides a chat widget for your website, guided conversation flows, AI assisted answers and lead scoring, conversation analytics, and delivery of captured leads into your CRM. Home Builder Marketers hosts and operates the service and may improve or change features over time.

Your account and content

  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the business information, questions and content you configure in your flows.
  • You confirm that you have the right to install Porchlight on the websites where you add the snippet.
  • You own the leads and conversation data captured on your websites. We process that data to provide the service, as described in the privacy policy.

Acceptable use

  • Use Porchlight only for lawful purposes and honest communication with your visitors.
  • Do not use the service to collect information you are not permitted to collect, or to mislead visitors about who they are talking to or how their information will be used.
  • Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer or gain unauthorized access to the service.

AI generated content

Parts of the service use AI to answer visitor questions and to score conversations. AI output is generated from your website content and the conversation itself, and while the assistant is designed to stay grounded in your material, you should review how it represents your business and keep your website content accurate. Scores are decision support, not guarantees about any individual lead.

Third party services

Lead delivery relies on third party platforms you connect, such as your CRM. Those platforms have their own terms, and outages or changes on their side are outside our control. You are responsible for maintaining valid integration credentials.

Availability and support

We work to keep Porchlight available around the clock, but the service is provided as is and uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed. Planned maintenance and unexpected downtime can occur. Support is provided by the Home Builder Marketers team.

Fees

Pricing and billing terms are agreed with Home Builder Marketers when your account is set up. Fees for services already delivered are not refundable unless agreed otherwise in writing.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Home Builder Marketers is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits, or lost business opportunities arising from the use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the three months before the claim arose.

Ending the service

You can stop using Porchlight at any time by removing the snippet from your website and telling us to close your account. We may suspend or end service for accounts that violate these terms. On request, we will provide an export of your lead data collected through the service.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a meaningful way, the updated version will be posted here with a new date, and active clients will be notified.
